Vaccine update! πŸ’‰

GOOD NEWS: WFLA News Channel 8 reports that over TWO MILLION vaccinations have been administered across Florida! πŸ‘

"So far 1,322,426 people have received their initial dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 693,865 people have received their second dose." πŸ™Œ

Additionally, in other vaccine news, Gov. DeSantis said Florida is expected to receive 325,000 new doses of vaccines this week, up from 307,000 last week.

"[T]he state will also see an increase in doses this week from the federal pharmacy program on top of the normal shipment. It’s unclear how many doses that will entail, but DeSantis said the increase will allow the state to administer vaccines at some Walmart stores across the state. An announcement on that is expected later this week."

Gratitude Day was first celebrated in 1965 and has celebrated annually ever since on the 21st of September.

In celebration of World Gratitude Day, let's take a moment and think about all of the people and things that we are thankful for today. I encourage you to say "thank you" to those people who you are most grateful for in YOUR life.

I am endlessly grateful for my family, my friends, and each and every one of YOU! πŸ’•πŸ˜ƒ

#TuesdayTip: Two masks are better than one! 😷

New research from the CDC shows that "'Double masking'β€” placing a tight-fitting cloth mask over a thin surgical maskβ€”blocks 92.5% of potentially infectious particles from escaping an infected person."

"That's more than double the protection a plain surgical mask offers, blocking only around 42% of particles."

A new week calls for a new #ViralVideo!

Today, I want to talk about the vaccine. πŸ’‰ Unfortunately, when it comes to the Covid-19 vaccine, it's not a "one and done" situation, meaning we are likely going to need future booster shots, like we do for the flu.

In fact, both Pfizer and Moderna are currently testing a "third booster shot of their respective two-dose vaccines."

"Both companies suggested that they are concerned about the South African variant’s potential impact on the effectiveness of their vaccines, as well as the possibility that future variants may make their vaccines less effective."

That being said, until medical experts know more, "receiving two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine will still offer worthy protection."

So get the vaccine as soon as you are eligible to do so!! πŸ‘ πŸ™Œ
