Physicist Herbert Zeman, emeritus associate professor of biomedical engineering at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, invented the Vein Viewer, which uses near-infrared light and proprietary technology to project a visible roadmap of underlying veins on skin. I worked with a syndicator of health news content for local television stations nationwide to reach more than 2 million viewers in 46 cities in 20 days. In response to these health reports, hospital executives actually called in their orders.
