FRESH LOGO SIGNALS RENEWED CARE COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY ONCE THREATENED WITH HOSPITAL LOSS

HOLLY SPRINGS, MISS. (August 12, 2021) – Kenneth Williams, MD debuted a new corporate logo for his Alliance HealthCare System today, refreshing the look and renewing the promise of his company to serve the ongoing health and care needs of residents of rural Marshall and Benton counties in Mississippi.

More than 20 years ago, after several previous owners including Memphis-based Methodist Healthcare decided to abandon Hospital operations at the Holly Springs location, Dr. Williams personally purchased, financial stabilized and sustained services at Alliance Hospital, 1430 Highway 4 East, for a community in need.

“Since 2010, between 130 and 140 small rural hospitals have closed. So, for many years, at the hospital, we had to learn how to survive rather than thrive,” Dr. Williams explained. “It seems like the world forgot all about rural communities and the folks who rely on the facilities in them. Now, with Covid, the world remembers we need small rural hospitals.”

“After 21 years, my hope is this rebranding can help stimulate some fresh thinking. We need to elevate our game here. We’ve got to start on a new hospital,” he said. “The hospital built in the 1960s is inefficient by today’s standards. And over the years, the community has moved west over by Interstate 22.”

Williams Medical Clinic, part of Alliance Healthcare, has flourished over 15 years at 1938 Crescent Meadow Dr. on a 32-acre medical campus closer to Interstate 22. And he said the campus has developable land and preliminary plans to accommodate:

• A health & wellness center, which could offer community exercise programs, yoga, healthful cooking, nutrition, and a variety of other classes.

• An educational building where college instructors could train area students for well-paying allied health careers, such as respiratory therapy, nursing, surgical techs, etc.

• A new state-of-the-art hospital which could help attract more physicians and specialists to the area and create new opportunities for health care workers.

At the center of the re-branding campaign is a fresh logo. The new corporate logo incorporates symbols, elements, and colors to reflect Alliance Healthcare System and its mission to promote the health and well-being of the people of its community through high-quality, compassionate, and personalized service.

The hummingbird silhouette in the logo refers to Alliance’s hometown, Holly Springs, Miss., which hosts a Hummingbird Migration Celebration as a river of ruby-throated hummingbirds pass through each fall and migrate south to Mexico and central America.

The heart at the center of the logo speaks to the excellent, compassionate, and personal care provided for each patient.

The alignments of visual elements refer to the alignment of services including 24-7 emergency medicine and preventive care through two out-patient clinics and a hospital as well as at home hospice and palliative care. The colors on the blue to purple palette represent compassion, authenticity, leadership, and boldness.

Residents of Marshall and Benton Counties in Mississippi are likely to see the logos more frequently online and across the community as part of a stepped-up effort to remind folks of the benefits of hometown healthcare and Dr. Williams’ steadfast service to them, their families, and their friends for a more than a generation.

Dr. Williams was born and raised in Moss Point on Mississippi’s Gulf Coast. He attended Meharry Medical College in Nashville with the help of a state loan which encouraged Mississippi residents to return home to practice. After his internship and residency in Detroit, he returned to Mississippi to repay a debt. And he decided to stay.

In 2005, the US Small Business Administration honored him as Mississippi’s Small Business Person of the Year. It praised him for buying the only hospital Marshall County and stabilizing its finances. It recognized him for his commitment to a rural community abandoned by so many others.
