1. Masonic Temple

Inside you’ll find gorgeous marble floors and high ceilings, as well as a statue of the first president himself.

2. Gravelly Point

Located just under 5 miles from Alexandria, Gravelly Point is a hot-spot for those who want to catch a glimpse of planes landing from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Bring a blanket and some snacks and look up! You wouldn’t want to miss the view. You can even drive to Mt. Vernon and bike down the trail to get there. Consider bringing earplugs-- while the excitement and energy is high, so is the volume.

3. Huntley Meadows

Known as the largest park in Fairfax County, Huntley Meadows is the perfect drive away for those who want a slice of nature. 4. Old Town

Historic Old Town is well-known for its restaurants and shops, such as Captain Gregory’s (a speakeasy, shhh and be careful if you decide to get a drink!), and the Torpedo Factory, a fantastic art center. You can take a walk and learn about the history of the area via placards, or take a stroll down the waterfront. The Masonic Temple is also located here, so it's the perfect opportunity to kill two birds with one stone.

5. Del Ray
