Project background

I was hired by Tasting Table as a Freelance news writer and wrote several evergreen articles for them. I was also working as a sourdough bread baker at a beloved Brooklyn bakery at the time, so food writing came naturally!

Tasting Tables churns out quality content with high publishing standards, so it was good experience to perfect sourcing requirements and develop a polished, instantly-publishable product.

Creative process

Tasting Table had strict guidelines around word count and slide length per article, so I made sure to edit as I wrote and hit all my target points per slide.

The role also required frequent research to link appropriate sources, and then due diligence to double check the validity of those sources.

I finished every article by uploading complimentary photos from their archives. I enjoyed presenting a fully realized article every time I submitted each story!

Final results

I ended up publishing several stories with Tasting Table with great feedback and a renewed appreciation for journalism!
