Social Media

Project background

While working at a beloved local bakery as a bread baker, I noticed that the bakery's social media was under-utilized despite having thousands of followers. After I was permitted access to the bakery's instagram, I started posting to see what types of posts their followers interacted with the most. Within a month, I was promoted to running the social media completely. I understood the voice and culture of the business, and I utilized the social media to bring in extra sales and foster more community engagement, every day.

Creative process

I developed a social media guide for the General Manager, and explained my vision for the platform. I aimed to post daily stories that highlighted each day's special baked offerings and any other funny, unique moments that happened with the team. Then I planned to post at least 1-3 grid posts a week depending on what products/ team moments required / deserved permanent platforming.

I have a background in photography, so I shot gorgeous photos of stunning baked goods and bread fresh out of the oven which droves sales the minute they were posted. It was very satisfying work on many levels, from the bread baking to the wildly effective social media marketing.

Final results

From the time I started running the social media, I grew the followers from 15,000 to 27,000. A 12,000 increase in just a few months! I also received a lot of compliments from the bakery owner and many customers about how much everyone enjoyed the quality and spirit of the daily content.

I sold out many items on countless amounts of days simply by posting about them in their most desirable, delicious light. It was a dream. A successful, tasty dream!
