<H2> Best Used Cars for Families <H2>

<H3> Toyota Sienna <H3>

The Toyota Sienna is a tough contender for the best used car for families. This car has plenty of space for the whole family, but still enough power to get you everywhere you need to go. It is equipped with all-wheel drive and seats up to 8, so it is perfect for larger families. A fun addition is the configurable seats that allow you control over the space you need for your family. Not only is it a smooth ride for a minivan, but gas mileage is on the higher end around 21 MPG city.

<H3> Honda Odyssey <H3>

The Honda Odyssey is large enough for a big family with seating options up to 8. It spacious enough for tall teens and has up to 38 cubic feet of cargo. An exciting addition is that some models even include a built-in vacuum for your car! It is fairly middle of the road for minivans with 19 MPG in the city.

<H3> Chrysler Pacifica <H3>

The Chrysler Pacifica has been known as the luxury minivan since the Town and Country was retired in 2016. It has DVD players, rear climate control, and newer models even have wi-fi hotspots. It coined the legendary stow n’ go system that stows all back seats to create space for anything you need to transport. The only downside is that at around 17 MPG city, it is not the best on the minivan market.

<H3> Toyota Highlander <H3>

The Toyota Highlander is considered one of the safest family cars. It has easy to clean interior to help with any spills. The newer models even include USB plugs to keep kids’ devices fully charged on road trips. It includes rear climate control and seats up to 8 passengers.

<H3> Chevrolet Equinox <H3>

The Chevrolet Equinox is great for a mid-sized family as it seats up to 5. It has top of the line safety features, including seat that vibrates when cars are in your blind spot or too close. It is extra roomy for a 5-seater and includes great space for car seats. The only downside is that this extra legroom comes with a little less cargo space.

Used Car Appreciation

Content

<H1> Are Used Car Values Rising? <H1>

If you’ve bought a car, you’ve probably heard the saying that a vehicle begins to depreciate in value immediately when you drive it off the dealer’s lot. But, this isn’t the case right now for many people as new and used car prices hit historical highs. MarketWatch has reported the average price of a used car has reached $25,000 for the first time ever, which is more than $2,000 above previous used car prices. With used car values on the rise, it could be time for you to look at trading in your car.

<H2> What Is Driving Up New and Used Car Prices? <H2>

Throughout COVID-19 many product supply chains were disrupted due to border closures and plant shutdowns, and the auto supply chain is no different. Due to these closures, there is a shortage of microchips used in the computers you find in many cars today. Since most vehicles can’t be made without these microchips, and many buyers are turning to used cars. Right now, there are around 530,000 fewer used cars available in America compared to last year.

The limited number of used vehicles available is combined with other factors like aversion to public transportation and additional cash from stimulus payments. All of  this waters down to more people looking to buy cars with not enough inventory available.

<H2> Should I Trade in My Car? <H2>

With used car values rising quickly, you may be wondering if you should trade-in your car. One of the first things you should consider is the value of your current vehicle. You can check your Kelley Blue Book used car trade-in value here. Many cars are keeping 60-65% of their original value in a sale, when previously it was closer to 55%.  Another important consideration is the loan balance that is outstanding on the car. If you owe too much, trading-in your vehicle may be difficult. Make sure you are familiar with commonly used terms and educate yourself on the common processes of trading-in a vehicle.
