A sequel that went through stages of grief behind the scenes but when the credits rolled, it payed tribute most beautifully.
Wakanda Forever is the most beautiful film I have seen from Marvel since Black Panther was released. The cinematography has been something that just did not hit the same in the films that were released during the four year time frame.
The film editing, the color palette, and the soundtrack are nothing short of incredible. Wankanda Forever honored Chadwick Boseman throughout the film while being able to put the spot light on a few other characters as well.
One of them being Namor and his kingdom.
Nicknamed the MCU's Atlantis the main plot of Wakanda Forever takes us deep into the ocean where we learn more about the people of Talokan and how they became so strong due to their ancestors relationship with plants infused with vibranium.
Angela Basset delivered one of the most chilling, powerful dialogues in the MCU history as she addresses Okoye after a mission is unsuccessful.
It only made sense that Angela was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Queen Ramonda.
No one could have imagined the passing of Chadwick Boseman but Ryan Coogler and the entire Black Panther cast handled it with grace. The grief and morning that the cast had to endure behind the scene was brought front and center as Shuri stepped into the mantle of Black Panther.
Not only did she lose her father, in Wakanda Forever she has to tackle not only losing her brother but also losing her mother as a casualty of war.
Believing that she was truly alone at the end of the film, it was a wonderful additions during the script rewrite that Shuri being along with no family is not the case.
The after credit scene introduces someone new and very important to Wakanda.
Toussaint, known by his Haitian name, also has another name.
T'Challa, son of T'Challa.
