Grant Writing

Project background

Community Literature Initiative is a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching writers of color how to write and publish books. The Sims Library of Poetry was opened in 2020, and engages with the South LA community by offering a space to read, write, study, perform, and appreciate poetry. My project as the head Grant Writer was to research and apply for grants that would support CLI's initiative.
