LinkedIn microcopy

Let me set the scene: you're a lone marketer on a brand new project, Ranking Raccoon, a link building platform for SEOs. The PM wants you to build up the brand from zero. No budget, only you and your keyboard.

What do you do?

Here's what I did

After extensive market research, a no-BS tone of voice was selected to build trust and stand out from the polite B2B babble of LinkedIn.

The graphic design was done by Paola Zardo, while I came up with the concept and copy.

My process

The SEO market is notoriously sleazy: you're trying to push away the shadiest people of the internet while pulling in credible marketers. I had three rules for marketing our little MVP on LinkedIn.

  1. Audience first.
I researched their needs, interests, and tastes to write convincing copies.

  2. Collaboration is key.
Social media is a visual platform. I'm nothing without my designer.

  3. Stand out.
Easier said than done, but it can be done. Be a lighthouse in the sea of ads.

An unexpected result: my coworkers learnt my name. I was ambushed by congratulations while running to meetings or brewing tea. Feels good to be appreciated.

I have so much more to tell you. Let's talk!
