CDCB "Come Dream. Come Build" Biographies
Project background
As a content writer intern for cdcb (Come Dream. Come Build.), I worked on was the creation of short profiles for the organization's board members that would be shared on social media. The project was created as a fun and personable way to introduce the company's board members to the general public. I was given the task of contacting and interviewing board members. From there, I converted the information into digestible profiles of the board members' lives and backgrounds. The project required a strong professional writer with an appetite for narrative and the ability to write short form.
Creative process
This project required me to interview, transcribe, edit, and create informational profiles on the company's board members. For the interview, I researched each candidate and carefully selected questions that would best describe the subject. Once interviews were transcribed, I drafted brief and engaging bios centering on the unique aspects of the board member. Similar to the character study done in traditional storytelling, bios would generally be structured to have the board's member's academic background, work experience, and work with cdcb, followed by an interesting personal fact. While crafting the profile, I was also sure to keep the content short and straight-to-the-point. The bios were then sent to subjects and to colleagues for review and sent back for final edits.
Final results
The project resulted in a total of six board member profiles. The profiles are available to the general public and can be found on the cdcb's official Instagram page.
