My work at MTF (Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation) Biologics marks my second internship as a content writer. These stories were my main creative project as a marketing and communications intern. The assignment involved contacting recipients of our organ and tissue donors, conducting and transcribing interviews, and crafting unique and engaging narratives that accurately represented the views of the recipient and the company.
This project required a strong sense of creative storytelling, a versatile writing voice, and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
My task was to edit and complete existing story drafts, and to interview and craft the stories of new recipients. As a storyteller, I leaned into my narrative abilities to capture the unique voice of each recipient and their inspiring story. This involved centering on the most unique aspect of the recipient and crafting the theme of their story from there. As a representative of MTF, I researched the company's previous recipient stories, emulated their structure and tone in my writing, and highlighted the impact of our organization in each recipient piece. To ensure accuracy, drafts and revisions were sent to both recipients and colleagues for edits and suggestions, and then incorporated into the final product.
Within the first 3 months of the internship, I wrote over 8 published stories for the company's website. After an additional 2 months, I have now written and edited over 13 recipient stories. Now, as a temporary writer for MTF Biologics, I continue to write stories that change lives.
