In mid-2024, I led a project to look for ways to help the client stand out in crowded digital channels.
Like most nonprofits, Wounded Warrior Project provides services at no cost. But during my research, I noticed something. While WWP doesn't charge membership dues, at least one other veterans services organization does. That was my opportunity.
Starting with a phrase everyone knows, I added the powerful differentiator: "Freedom isn't free, but our help always is."
Today, you see this messaging across email, social and programmatic channels and even more importantly, in AI search.
The client now effectively owns this phrase online, and their digital revenue has broken records the past two years.
