Be human. Communication is an essential component of the human experience. Interaction between people through written or spoken words takes place within a uniquely human sensory framework. We share and receive information through ancient genetic physical and neurological systems; these chemically and biologically wired systems have only recently been bombarded and overwhelmed by the deluge of technological and artificial stimulation/media. Our current state of saturated sensory overload is new for our ancient human physical constructs. This may be why people tend to respond best to simplicity, and to experiences that connect our shared humanity. Remembering this is essential.
Be real. Authenticity, generally speaking, is difficult to fake. We tend to be cynical, questioning, distrustful. Words engender trust when connected with actions; they are empty when actions don't match. Genuine, transparent communication, reflecting what we see and experience, generates trust and openness across all relationships.
Be vulnerable. There's strength in shared vulnerability, a doorway to human intimacy that offers a higher level of human connection, one that enhances positive, creative energy. Strong relationships are essential to achieving positive outcomes. Vulnerability helps build trust and openness; it unites people in both professional and personal relationships. It's this open acknowledgement of our shared humanity that supports strong relationships capable of harnessing transformative energy.
