With 8 years of experience in news and media, I've built a name for myself as a trusted leader in the newsroom.

My origin story begins here.

My writing career took off when I worked as a staff reporter for Mic, the Independent, and then as a freelancer for some of the most trusted names in journalism like the Washington Post, the Atlantic, HuffPost, the Intercept, and the New Republic. I mainly covered stories involving politics, religion, national security, race, and immigration, and where they all intersect.

Naturally curious, I find great thrill in venturing into the unknown. So far, I've traveled to Myanmar and Thailand to meet with democracy activists and examine the Rohingya conflict firsthand; Saudi Arabia to meet with housewives, working women, and Muslim pilgrims; Morocco to hear from the Atlas Mountains’ Amazigh population about their fight against systemic oppression and for cultural preservation; and Germany to learn from champions of press freedom.

I also got to interview heads of state, pop culture icons, and some very cool and inspiring people. You may recognize some of them: Sarah Palin, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Noam Chomsky, Ziauddin Yousafzai, Reza Aslan, W. Kamau Bell, John Oliver, Donald Glover, Russell Simmons, Vic Mensa and T.I.

As a journalist, I love writing vigorously-reported and impassioned stories about greed, corruption, and conflict, and how they affect ordinary people in this world. It’s what keeps me going.
