How can I showcase my writing samples?

The best way to do that on Copyfolio is by using the Portfolio section. There you can add new projects with a click —we’ll add an aesthetic thumbnail for each. A project can be a case study page (which we recommend), a PDF file that’ll open in a new tab, or an external link. So no matter how your writing samples are stored, there’s an easy way to showcase them for you.

Can I build my copywriting portfolio for free?

Yes. You can create a copywriting portfolio website with Copyfolio’s Free plan, but you’ll only be able to publish one project. For most published projects, Premium sections, and advanced customization, you’ll have to upgrade to Premium.

What should I include in my portfolio?

An introduction section, your projects or work samples, and your contact information are the most important elements of your online portfolio. For your writing projects, we recommend adding short case studies, so you can explain the project background, your creative process, and show the finished results.

I’m a freelance writer. What should I have on my site?

As a freelance writer, the most important thing is to let people know that you're indeed a freelancer, and whether you're open to projects. Make sure to also showcase your services, so they know what type of projects you can be hired for. To increase your chances of being chosen for a new projects, add some of your best writing samples, and a few testimonials from previous clients or colleagues.

I have lots of projects to show. Is there a limit?

When it comes to adding projects, Copyfolio doesn't have a technical limit for you. But you should think about the potential clients or employers checking your site: they probably won't have time to go through dozens of samples. As a best practice, add 3-4 of your best pieces to your homepage, and create a dedicated portfolio page if you'd like to add more. If you still want to add more than 6, try to break them into categories.

What kind of sections can I use to build my site?

Copyfolio has dozens of sections for your to choose from. Some come with pre-filled content based on your profession —some are just basic text and image-based ones to start fresh with. You'll also find special sections like client and logo walls, contact forms, quote blocks, and more. There's even a blog section you can add if you're in the mood to write more.

What makes Copyfolio a good platform for blogging?

Compared to other blogging platforms, the initial blog setup is way easier in Copyfolio. Getting your starter sites takes two minutes, then you can use an in-line blog section to add and categorize all your posts. The "what you see is what you get" blog post editor is intuitive and easy: you can paste in your work from somewhere else, or write it here with the formatting options you already know and love. Once the text is ready, you can add images and other blocks anywhere in-between. And the best part: unlike in many blogging platforms, you can add image next to the text too, and use other handy blocks like galleries as well.
